Description NIGHT
is a collaborative multimedia performance piece by composers/performance artists
Chris Jonas and Molly Sturges. Through live music, sound, video and movement,
NIGHT explores the many realms of darkness: the natural beauty of night, the duality
of the inside in the light versus the outside in the dark, fear of the unknown,
and the psychological, biological and cross-cultural worlds of night. Night is
also a metaphor for today's fear-based climate in The United States. Here the
darkness of night highlights precarious notions of security, personal, cultural
and national identity, and the fear of the other side. Performed
by: Molly Sturges - composition, voice, electronics
and movement Chris Jonas - composition, video
& soprano saxophone With guest musicians | |
